Please see below details of our free forthcoming online MSK Zoom sessions for coming months to which you are welcome to attend as part of our Spring/ Summer 2023 education series.
Our sessions are tailored and suitable for GPs, Physiotherapists, Physician Associates and other healthcare professionals with an MSK/ Orthopaedic interest. Please note that all of the sessions below will start at 7pm- finishing between 8.15pm - 8.30pm and are via zoom:
Thursday 27th April via zoom 7pm start:
"The assessment and management of shoulder problems” with Faisal (Fraz) Hussain.
Common shoulder problems and assessment, The role of injections and COVID-19 / risks, Clinical case studies, management of pain and examination.
Thursday 18th May, via zoom 7pm start.
“Patellofemoral pain and instability: diagnosis, aetiology and management,” with Professor Martyn Snow.
How to recognise patients suffering from PFJ pain, How to manage PFJ instability in primary care, First line treatment for PFJ disorders, What causes PFJ disorders, A summary of surgical solutions for PFJ disorders.
Wednesday 24th May, via Zoom, 7pm start.
"Back pain in children and young adults", with our new Consultant member, Mr Morgan Jones, Consultant Spinal Surgeon from the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham.
Some learning points/ topics will include: Red flags, changing rates, how to manage and when to refer, specific diagnoses, eg, Pars defects.
Wednesday 28th June, via zoom, 7pm start.
"Shoulder replacement” with Mr Samir Massoud.
Some topics will include: Indications, Different types of replacements, Difficulties, Solutions and Complications
Monday 10th July. via zoom 7pm start.
"Hip pain and management” with Mr Ronan Treacy.
Some of topics will include: changes to the THR pathway, anatomy and hip pathology, common hip conditions, referred pain, pain patterns, osteoarthritis, injections, advances in revision surgery, robotic surgery and case studies.
